The Academy revealed its selections for the 98th Academy Awards this evening through presenters Danielle Brooks and Lewis Pullman. As anticipated, Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” and Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” emerged with the most nominations, setting up an exciting competition.

Anderson’s film continues its awards season dominance with nominations recognizing its artistic achievements and technical excellence. The director’s work earned recognition alongside performances from Leonardo DiCaprio, Benicio Del Toro, and Teyana Taylor. The film’s adapted screenplay nomination acknowledges its compelling narrative structure.

“Sinners” matched this success with its own impressive nomination count. Coogler’s direction earned recognition, while the film’s technical achievements in cinematography, sound, and visual effects secured nominations. Michael B. Jordan’s leading performance and supporting work from Wunmi Mosaku and Delroy Lindo also received acknowledgment.

Other films finding success in the nominations include Timothée Chalamet’s “Marty Supreme,” which earned multiple nominations including Best Picture and Best Actor. However, the morning brought disappointment for Neeraj Ghaywan’s “Homebound,” which received zero nominations despite its critical acclaim and emotional resonance.

The 98th Academy Awards ceremony takes place on March 15 at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air at 7 p.m. ET on ABC, where the year’s finest cinematic achievements will receive their ultimate recognition.
